Please read these rules before posting on our Bulletin Boards.
Forum rules
1. Please read the boards before posting: try not to repeat questions/threads that have already been done. Please use the search function to see if your thread has already been done to death.
2. No spam advertising of any kind. We are interested in hearing about your new, songs mad nu website (we reserve the right to provide constructive feedback regarding them), just post the details in the right place. Please respect that this is first and foremost a community discussion forum, not a free advertising board, first time offenders will be given a single warning, repeat infractions or persistent spammers will be banned and reported to their ISPs.
3. Starting new threads. Threads should have concise and meaningful titles and be posted into the appropriate forum. Titles like 'ere ‘ave you seen this!' just waste time and bandwidth. Please spell check your posts - a free spell checker is available for IE/PC users here
4. Replying to posts. Do not post up loads of cut and paste text from other sites, that’s what they are there for. Summarise the article and including a link to the original. Please note: because of server space and performance issues, old posts and entire threads may be deleted without warning. PLEASE MAKE COPIES OF THREADS IMPORTANT TO YOU
5. Starting new polls. If you wish to create a poll, carefully consider all the possible/relevant options BEFORE posting make sure there isn't already a poll on the same topic. Completely flippant and pointless polls may be deleted, it depends how funny they are.
6. Trolling/direct linking. Do not directly link to 'hostile/extreme/extreme rightwing' websites (break up the link if you must refer to them). Anyone found posting up malicious links on other sites and/or trying to stir up 'board wars' will be banned.
7. Racism/personal abuse/defamatory postings/gratuitous swearing etc. is not allowed. We want lively/feisty debate. Please respect people's privacy and refrain from posting up personal details without their permission. Remember unprovoked or sustained personal attacks may result in a ban!
8. Gore-fest pics and porn are unacceptable, and embedded images must not be over 50kb (otherwise the board dies for those using dial-up connections). If you wish use large images, write a short description and link to the image.
9. These Boards are Left leaning. Repetition of mainstream ideals/ideas/parroting of establishment doctrines will not be accepted. There are plenty of places on the internet where this can be done, please respect this. All ideas are welcome, Trolling however, is not.
10. Civil behaviour is expected. You have the right to do/say whatever you wish to do/say but please do not impinge on another’s right to do so.
